General Questions
Do you have a list of what you can and cannot accept?
Please take a look at the DONATIONS under the SUPPORT US section of our website. We also post regular updates on our Facebook page to highlight specific items that we’re desperate for.
What quality do the items have to be in?
Items must be clean, in excellent pre-loved or as new condition. If you would give it to your best friend, then we’ll happily accept it.
Do I need to clean the items I am donating?
Yes please. We’re a small team working in a small space, with limited resources.
Where and when can I drop off items?
Donations can be dropped off at the back door of our premises. 19 Westgate, Heckmondwike, WF16 0HE. TUESDAY to SATURDAY 10am to 2pm. Our donation drop off point can be found on Queen Street, WF16 0HF. It’s the first left just before the Heckmondwike MOT centre.
Do you offer a collection service?
Yes, we do if there are a lot of items to donate. Please contact us for further information. Note: We can only collect within Kirklees.
Do you accept cash donations and what happens to them?
Absolutely. Please contact us for our bank details.
Cash donations are used to purchase new mattresses, infant formula or any items that must be provided brand new for hygiene or safety reasons. The Lullaby Trust has established a link between used mattresses and SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). For this reason, we always supply brand new moses basket, cot and cot-bed mattresses.
How is your service accessed?
Our service is free to use and accessed via professional referral only. This is in the best interest of the professionals and the families we support. It ensures all our resources and donations are available to help the most vulnerable in our community. See our Referrals page for further details.
What happens after you receive a referral?
Once we have received a referral and taken some details from the professional, we contact the family to arrange a convenient delivery date. Or the professional may arrange to collect the items themselves. There may be a waiting list for certain items.
